Now and again, John likes to get us up really early and drive us long distances so that we can experience sleeping in other parts of the country.
Our most recent Wilkie group trip out was to Accelrys who are situated in the Cambridge Science Park. Accelrys is the producer of various molecular modeling and simulation software for both life and materials science research, like cerius, catalyst, insightII, quanta - only one of which I've ever heard of. Whereas at most conferences you're given really uncomfortable chairs to sit on (for keeping the audience awake purposes), Accelrys had provided really funky ones with a nifty reclining facility, so it was lucky the talks were fairly interesting (as presentations go) otherwise we'd have all been asleep within seconds.
Hidden behind reception there was where they kept all our refreshements. Here you can see Andy and myself sitting on one of the very comfy sofas they had available, and several empty plates which once contained large amounts of food. Whilst looking quite good, these red chairs were really not. I could only manage a few seconds sat on one before returning to the much nicer sofa.
I have no idea what is going on with these last 2 pictures. I think Chris had been taking something.
