Retirement Spectacular

12th June 2005

The last ever quiz from the minds of Cathy & Damian, and the first ever event sponsored by Chair Club. It had to be good. It was. Where else could you find people reinventing the game of bridge? Or walking backwards on one leg with hands on heads for far, far too long (we called it 'musical chairs'). Yes, we made people look like pratts. But it was fun. And we gave out limited edition Chair Club badges, signed Captain Chair prints, a vintage 1982 Captain Chair pollaxe, and more beer than we knew what to do with!

Build a Bridge

The challenge was issued to build a bridge using whatever materials the teams could get there hands on. Here are the results.

'Bridge'

Task 2: play bridge. Obviously none of the people taking part knew how to play bridge, but that didn't stop them. A challenge was issued and they were determined to find a winner.

Musical Chairs

So pretty much the same volunteers as those who played bridge ended up playing Musical Chairs. Which involved ice. And beer. And went on for a very, very long time.

Winners and Losers

Every quiz has to have its winners and losers and, whilst everyone went home with a decent haul of alcohol each, special mention has to go to the losers (the bar, who had to give up because they were too busy):

and the winners, My Mum:

The amount of drinks they donated had absolutely nothing to do with their final score.
