How to Build A Giant Bridge |

Manifesto Hustings Press Coverage Campaigning Papery Bits Ironbridge Giant Bridge Results Night Day 2 and beyondDue to illness, the structure not looking particularly strong, a lack of camera to take photos, and a few other things, I wasn't too keen to finish the bridge off. So it was only on the day before voting began that Emma finished covering the bridge. I'm very glad she did. Unfortunately due to the missing camera, I don't have any photos of it being finished off, its assembly outside the library on the first day of voting. I do, however, have a photo of the finished product, taken shortly after Emma came back from pronto with a film for my regular (non-digital) camera (I'd also sent Chris for a film but, being useless, he came back empty-handed).
After a couple of minutes, we discovered that despite the bricks 'borrowed' (yes, we did get permission from Estates - actually it was a man from Estates who suggested we should use them) from the bottom of the Muirhead, they did little to hold the giant sail down.
Chris proved slightly better at bridge holding-down than he did at film purchasing. Unfortunately he got bored of holding it down after a few hours so we had to relocate it to the library. Note presence of laptop and showing off of Captain Chair: The Movie.
What you can't see here is that the bridge has been cunningly tied to the wire going across the library wall. Initially the bridge wasn't tied down which resulted in the bridge taking off and performing an arial attack on the other candidates.
Unfortunately my attempt to wipe out my opposition failed. The EndEven Captain Chair and Bridge Boy didn't stand a chance against the destructive forces of Dr. Sabbath (and Gary).
Thanks to the Chemistry cleaners for taking away the remaining bits. Manifesto Hustings Press Coverage Campaigning Papery Bits Ironbridge Giant Bridge Results Night |
