Move - And You're Dead

A bridge is strapped with a bomb in an attempt to kill Alan and Grandma.

About the only episode of Thunderbirds where a bridge is the star. Alan and some racing driver are having some troubles getting along, so the jealous driver sticks Alan and Grandman on a bridge with a bomb.

The bridge is crosses the San Miguel River in a sparsely populated area, so most of its useage probably comes from people driving very quickly over it. Due to not being in a highly populated area, the bridge has not been as well maintained as is desireable. The picture above shows that a new coat of paint is probably needed and a good checking over of it would be advised.

The 'rescue' of Alan and Grandma is achieved by using the 'Jet Air Transporter' which creates an upward air current for the people to land on safely. Unfortunately, no one thought of the bridge when coming up with this plan. The people are saved, but the bomb still explodes and completely destroys the bridge. This is rather a sad end to the story and one wonders why International Rescue could not have taken more care about preserving the bridge. Despite its limited use, there must be a substantial monetary value to it. Instead of a coat of paint, a brand new bridge is required to enable travellers to cross the river.

If the bridge had to be destroyed, they could at least have made sure the old woman was still on it when it blew up.
